This weekend proved to be a combination of high highs and low lows. Hincapie Barkley kicked off the first races for the team last weekend and it was a sight to be seen. Saturday was the hindy hell fest that is Donaldson center. I wasn't going into either of the races last weekend with any hope of personal success but the team rode well. Although we struggled to function as a team, we took the sprint finish in the field missing the break. I rolled a tubular, ate face, and DNF'd the first race of the season. booo.
Sunday proved a little more interesting. Although the weather was a bit "cold" meaning low 50's and cloudy in Greenville, the lovely throb of BMW motors drifting through the center of the BMW Test Track which was hosting the race must have gotten a bug up our butts. The team rode amazingly well taking fourth behind three impressively good riders in Andy Baker (professional), Scotty Weiss (ex-pro and national champion), and Spencer Beamer (Pro and super sprinter). Overall a fun weekend and good fitness was gained. It was great to see the team organize a leadout THREE LAPS out, although it didn't work, it showed that the team is willing to do what it takes to win. Big change for me I must say!
As for now, Mr. Nick (supercalves) Housley and I are setting up shop in Ohio and looking to make some money this weekend at the Arnold Classic. nothing like $1,500 for the win in OHIO in FEBRUARY... It should be highly interesting. I am feeling creatively challenged and this blog is going to be borderline mind-numbingly boring, but hey, can't a guy be full bellied on Frosted Miniwheats and coffee and not feel like writing a fun, entertaining, and pointlessly whitty entry! CUT ME SOME SLACK! Ill be more creative once I hopefully get some money this weekend!
here are some picsof the new kits and Hincapie Barkley in action! And NO IM NOT FAT, i just have a lot of clothing on!
